We are experiencing an extremely high volume of calls to our contact center. If you’re trying to reach us by phone, you will have longer than usual wait times to speak to a representative. Please log in to digital banking to review your account and transactions, transfer money between your TCF accounts or with accounts you own at other financial institutions, pay bills, lock or unlock your debit card and more. Use the TCF Bank mobile app to easily deposit checks. Thank you for your patience as we work to answer your calls as quickly as possible.
Now that you’ve settled into your new home, it’s time to get to know your place inside out.
Here are four things to make sure you and any family members will be as secure as can be in your new digs:
Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
This might sound obvious, but the importance of checking your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors can’t be stressed enough. Make sure they’re properly installed, working, and clean.
There are a million new things to buy when you move into a new home, but don’t scrimp when it comes to buying fire extinguishers— get one for every level of your home.
We're not talking about the one that's inside your dryer; we mean the big vent from your laundry room to the outside. Sure, it’s a hassle pulling the dryer away from the wall, but it should be done at least three or four times a year, as lint is highly flammable.
If you purchased an older home, consider changing the locks or having them rekeyed. While getting the keys at closing was probably exciting, it’s less than exciting to think of the potential number of people who might have been given copies by the previous owners.
We’re always here to support you, even after closing.
