You need your bank’s routing number for a variety of reasons, such as when you set up direct deposit or use your checking account to send a transfer.
TCF Routing Number

Find your routing number on a check

Look at the bottom of one of your checks. The routing number is on the bottom left and consists of nine digits. Your account number, which you need for setting up direct deposit, is the second group, made of 10 digits. The check number for that specific check is on the right.
Find routing numbers for TCF by state

You can find your routing number without a check, too. The TCF Bank routing number for your account, whether it’s a checking or savings account, or personal or business account, is based on the state where you opened your account with us. If you opened your account online, the TCF Bank routing number is based on the state given on your online application.
