  • Get help managing the lifestyle changes related to the pandemic. Health Advocate offers telephone and online behavioral and mental health support at no cost to you. Health Advocate also has provided a variety of brochures and tip sheets, including resources for parents managing their children’s learning at home, resources for caregivers, and a webinar to help you and your family cope with anxiety and fear you may be experiencing.

Get advice from a registered nurse, 24/7, at no cost to you — for any health question. Decide whether your symptoms indicate that you need to go to the emergency room, an urgent care clinic or just see your primary care doctor. The nurse also can help you decide if a virtual visit will provide the appropriate level of care, saving you time and money.

The nurse also can help you with a variety of other health-related questions:

  • Find a network doctor and schedule an appointment
  • Learn how to treat minor illnesses and injuries at home
  • Answer questions about procedures you have scheduled, such as surgeries or medical tests
  • Understand your medications, potential drug interactions and medication alternatives

Virtual Visits (

You can help stop the spread of germs and get care from the comfort of your own home by using virtual visits to get care from a doctor for any nonemergency care.

Virtual visits are available at any time for medical care. You do not need an appointment. Most visits take about 10 minutes, but the doctor will spend as much time with you as needed. If you need a prescription, the doctor can send it directly to your pharmacy for you to pick up.

You also can schedule virtual visits with a therapist or psychiatrist for behavioral and mental health care.

Our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) can help you cope with the lifestyle changes and stresses of the pandemic. Health Advocate counselors and materials also can assist you and your family with a variety of other life issues. You can choose short-term counseling, referrals for additional support, and a variety of resource materials about behavioral health and work-life balance including articles, self-assessments, webinars and other resources.

Health Advocate services are free to you, independent of TCF, and available 24/7.
