TCF CHECK CARD QUESTIONS
-
Does TCF charge a fee when I use my TCF Check Card at merchant locations?
There is no fee when you use your card at merchant locations if you select "credit" as your payment option. TCF charges a POS Transaction Fee if you select "debit." Refer to TCF's Deposit Account Services and Prices Schedule for the amount of this fee.
-
How long does it take to receive a TCF Check Card?
It takes approximately 5-10 business days from the order date to receive your TCF Check Card. It will be mailed to the address you have specified on the account.
-
How does the TCF Check Card purchase process work?
When you use your TCF Check Card to make a purchase without your secret code, the merchant authorizes your purchase through VISA, and a Visa Pending Transaction is placed on the estimated or actual amount of the purchase in your account for up to three business days. This Visa Pending Transaction affects the amount of funds available for subsequent check card transaction authorizations. The merchant then sends the purchase paperwork to VISA, and VISA forwards the transaction to TCF. When TCF receives the transaction information, the Visa Pending Transaction is released and the actual amount of your purchase is withdrawn from your account.
